Copy a list of files is slower

Post by gabe » Mon Feb 10, 2020 4:58 pm

I installed UltraCopier 2.2.3.1 on Windows 10 (18363.628).
If i copy only one file in my usb the speed is that

If I copy more than one file in the same usb the speed is that

I also tried a copy as a folder or to make the manual copy instead of the drag & drop but always the same :?

Hi,

Yes it's due to Windows buffer management.
I'm searching a solution. But the real speed is 29MB/s in your case.

it's a very big problem because in my case for example, to copy many files with Windows I spend about 10 minutes, with ultracopier about 30 minutes (I tested yesterday)

Hi,
To test:
- Options -> Copy Engine -> Inode thread: 1
- If you use multiple copy windows, try into unique window
- I have do internal test temporaly with this: http://ultracopier.first-world.info/temp/ultracopier-windows-x86-2.2.3.2.zip
Say me what option have what change to try do a permanent fix.

- Options -> Copy Engine -> Inode thread: 1
Sorry: - Options -> Copy Engine -> Copy Engine Async -> Performance -> Inode thread: 1

My debug build env only support 32Bits, it's just to test, the behavior and bug should be the same.

sorry...
I will try
In the meantime I tried an old version (1.2.0.4 ) and the speed is quick.
Is it normal?
