Ultracopier copies in steps

Post by gvvsss » Fri Jan 25, 2013 5:44 pm

Hi

I am a long time user of Supercopier and thought of adopting Ultracopier and give it a try.

When I copied a HD file of 5 GB size from one location to other, it was copying it in steps...

i.e., it copied a bit(3%) very quickly at 110MB/s, then the speed dropped to 230KB/s, it again raised to 108MB/s and after 5% again dropped to 112KB/s. It was fluctuating all the time throught the complete copy.

I tried to copy the same file from same location to same location with Supercopier again, and it copied the file smoothly at 95~108MB/s without any dropdowns or fluctuations.

Is this the common behaviour of UC or any bug ?

I have noted that's, I need investigate.

And with the OS buffer (into the options)?

Is buffer in user space (the buffer in kernel space is never touched), but prevent real check if it's written, have sync problem sometime at close.
It's like a big memory part, where is stored the write, and write in second time without any write check.

Maybe fix into the last version.
