Here are the steps to try.
I have two folders 'folder1' and 'folder2'.
In each folder I have a file named Test.txt
In folder1 I select the Test.txt and then ctrl+C to copy to the clipboard.
Now change to folder2 and use ctrl+V to paste from the clipboard.
All is good the offered name is OK with a .txt extension.
BUT if I go to folder1 then do ctrl+C followed by a ctrl+V to copy and paste into the same folder.
This time the offered file name has lost the txt extension.
I am using v1.6.1.3, it didn't seem to do this in earlier versions (1.4.x.x).

Hi,
Do you have do any change with settings?
Options -> Copy engine -> Ultracopier -> The renaming rule:
First renaming: %name% - copy%suffix%
Second renaming: %name% - copy (%number%)%suffix%
Cheers,

No, I haven't changed anything.
Just using the defaults after installing.
There isn't any renaming rules in the options.

Add %suffix% at the end of both line.
I have changed this into the last version.
